What to expect

A new diagnosis or abnormal finding can feel overwhelming. Our practice is intentionally designed to provide what patients need most: direct access to your physician, clear and timely communication, and individualized support at every stage of care. From your initial consultation through surgery and recovery, Dr. Voci remains closely involved in your treatment, ensuring continuity, accessibility and a collaborative approach built around your needs and priorities.

01

Your Initial Consultation

Topics commonly covered
  • Your diagnosis and what it means

  • Review of imaging and pathology findings

  • Surgical options

  • Treatment timing

  • Reconstruction considerations

Your consultation is designed to offer both expertise and time – two things that matter deeply when navigating a breast cancer diagnosis.

Whenever possible, prior imaging, pathology and medical records are reviewed in advance so that your visit can focus on what matters: understanding your diagnosis, discussing treatment options and getting your questions answered in a thoughtful, unrushed environment.

BRING SOMEONE YOU TRUST

Patients are welcome and encouraged to bring a family member, friend or trusted support person to appointments if desired.

  • Genetic testing and hereditary risk

  • Multidisciplinary treatment planning

  • Recovery expectations

  • Care coordination and next steps

- Second opinions are always welcome

02

Personalized Surgical Care

Surgical procedures are performed at accredited hospitals and outpatient surgical facilities throughout the Charlotte Region.

Dr. Voci works closely with each patient to develop a surgical approach that aligns with both oncologic goals and personal priorities whenever possible.

We understand that the time between diagnosis, consultation, and surgery can be one of the most emotionally demanding periods of this journey. Our practice prioritizes timely scheduling and efficient care coordination, helping patients move forward with clarity, reassurance and continuity of care.

Careful consideration is given to
  • Breast conservation (ie lumpectomy and partial mastectomy options)

  • Mastectomy planning (nipple sparing, skin sparing, and total mastectomy)

  • Reconstruction coordination with trusted plastic surgeons

  • Cosmetically conscious surgical approaches

  • Recovery planning tailored to your lifestyle and needs

  • Long-term surveillance and breast health planning

03

Multidisciplinary Coordination

While Voci Breast Surgery is an independent practice, we maintain close working relationships with leading oncology specialists and cancer programs throughout the Charlotte region. We believe strongly in multidisciplinary treatment as the standard of care for breast cancer patients.

Every patient is thoughtfully guided in selecting the oncology team and treatment setting that best fits their diagnosis, personal goals, preferences, and practical needs.

Exceptional breast cancer care requires collaboration and that's something Dr. Voci is deeply committed to.

We believe strongly in multidisciplinary treatment as the standard of care for breast cancer patients.
